August 29, 2007 After five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's country singles chart with his fastest-rising single, "Never Wanted Nothin' More," Kenny Chesney watched his new release, "Don't Blink," hit No. 16 after only a week of radio play, giving him the highest debut on the charts in the era of BDS monitoring.
"I just try to find songs that say something about what feels right about life to me," Kenny says. "I find that if a song hits me, well, chances are it's gonna strike other people out there, too."
Kenny will perform from the roof of the "Good Morning America" studio on Sept. 13, two days after his much anticipated album, Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates, hits store shelves. He says the appearance will be a great way to share his first new music in two years with a nationwide audience.
"It's the same idea as morning drive." he says. "If we're going to kickoff a record, you wanna pull all that energy from New York City and put it right back into your music. If we can get that into people's homes, it'll be perfect."
Kenny will also help people end day their day with a performance on NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" that night.
