October 8, 2007 — Montgomery Gentry's Eddie Montgomery is used to the spotlight, but when it comes to his family it's a different story. Kentucky's WKYT-TV reports that a recent incident outside his Kentucky home had Eddie fearful for his family's safety.
Last week neighbors told the Montgomerys they had spotted a green minivan parked outside their farm. Eddie and his wife, Tracy, say the same van was also seen following a school bus while their children were onboard. Then as Eddie's 11-year-old son stepped off the bus, someone in the van yelled out, calling his son by name. Terrified, the boy ran down his driveway and into the house.
Police looked into the situation and reported that the two men in the van were starstruck fans who didn't have criminal records. Still, Eddie says they're not sure what the men were up to. The Montgomerys say they want other parents to be on the lookout for anything unusual happening in the area.
When it comes to fans, Eddie says he welcomes them talking to him, but not his children.
