January 31, 2008 Blake Shelton is making pop singer Michael Bublé feel right at home in country music. He recorded Michael's song "Home" and recently released it to country radio, convinced that he needed to get it out right away.
Blake had started performing it in his live shows, and the reaction was strong enough that he started playing it for music executives last fall. They gave him a thumbs-up, and Blake has now added the song to future copies of his album Pure BS.
"I didn't want to wait 'til the next album to put this out," he says. "It just feels right for now."
His rush-released single goes on sale digitally via Amazon.com Friday and appears on Tuesday at other digital outlets, including iTunes and Rhapsody. On March 4, he'll put out another special release, Blake Shelton: Collector's Edition, which will be available only at Wal-Mart. The compilation will include "Ol' Red," "Austin," "Nobody But Me," "Some Beach" and, of course, "Home."
In addition, "Home" will be used in a Pepsi radio ad that begins airing Friday.
