March 3, 2008 - Thanks to the success of the TV series "Hannah Montana," Billy Ray Cyrus and daughter Miley Cyrus have spent very little time at home in Tennessee over the last two years. In fact, during that entire span, he's not been home for more than a week at a time.
That will change this year when several projects require Billy Ray to be back in the Volunteer State. Filming begins in May for a Hannah Montana movie, and Billy Ray was instrumental in getting the production based in Tennessee, rather than Louisiana. Then in June, he'll be the host of the Music City-based talent competition Nashville Star, which moves to NBC for the first time.
"I am very excited about it," Billy Ray told The Tennessean. "I keep grabbing my dog, Tex, a German shepherd, and saying, 'We're going home!' It really feels right. The hard part is going to be when it's time to leave again."
Billy Ray is so jazzed about the development that he wrote a song called "Back To Tennessee." He predicts it will become the title of his next album.
