Aug. 4, 2008 Brooks & Dunn are a veritable party machine in concert, and thats part of the attraction when they rev it up during their upcoming 90-minute GAC special Brooks & Dunn: Cowboy Town.
But Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn can be subtle, too, as they proved with their hit "Believe," which won Song of the Year honors from both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music in 2006. The song is one of the highlights of the Cowboy Town special, putting them for a time in a different element than the arenas and amphitheaters that dominate their tour schedule these days.
"We were just tryin to touch a little bit on the different facets that influence the music that we do," Ronnie said, explaining the songs role in the special on the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "Obviously gospel comes into play with just about any artist in country music and rock n roll probably. And Believe was a good podium to take out and do in a small, rural type of church, and we did some performances there kinda jammed with the choir, which was really fun."
Also heard in the Cowboy Town special, which debuts on GAC Aug. 13 at 9 p.m. ET, are "Brand New Man," "Hillbilly Deluxe" and "Little Miss Honky Tonk."
Today, the duo turns Los Angeles into Cowboy Town as Brooks & Dunn receive a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
