Aug. 26, 2008 Its been three years since Patty Loveless strung together a series of concert dates, but shell be back on tour next month just two weeks after releasing a new CD.
The tour, as it currently stands, begins Sept. 26 in State College, Pa., and concentrates on states near the eastern seaboard, winding down Nov. 8 in Annapolis, Md. More dates are expected.
"I'm excited to get back out there," she says. "We'll perform classics from the new CD as well as many of my own hits from past albums. Performing live is one of my favorite things, and I'm thrilled to get back out there."
The new album, Sleepless Nights, is a covers project featuring 14 remakes of classic country songs. Among the artists represented are George Jones, Conway Twitty, Hank Williams, Webb Pierce and Ray Price. Produced by husband Emory Gordy Jr., the album also features a background vocalist whos worked with her many times in the past: Vince Gill.
