Sept. 2, 2008 One of the most-talked-about videos in circulation is Brad Paisleys "Waitin On A Woman," featuring a guest appearance by the iconic Andy Griffith, and GAC premieres a special with an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek at the project on Thursday with Brad Paisley: Behind The Video.
"One of the highlights of my career is this video, and I cant thank Andy enough for doing this," Brad says. "Playing acoustic guitar while sitting on a bench beside Andy Griffith in my career, thats as good as it gets."
Brad and director Peter Tilden came up with the concept nearly two years ago, and the success of the song which was originally released on Brads Time Well Wasted project has led to its inclusion on new versions of the album 5th Gear. Storme Warren chats with both Brad and Andy in Behind The Video about the songs powerful message and the process of the clips creation.
"I did love this project and I love the song, about a man going to Heaven and waiting for his wife," Andy says. "Its a beautiful piece, and I love doing the lyric."
"Ninety-nine percent of having Andy in the video was selfish for me," Brad confesses, "but I thought this was a song worthy of his participation. Its that great of a song, and more than that, its artistic enough to be worthy of him."
Arista recently released a new version of the single to radio that features Andys recitation. Brad Paisley: Behind The Video debuts Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
