Oct. 7, 2008 Dierks Bentley was full of praise and cheers for his wife, Cassidy, after she delivered their first daughter, Evalyn Day Bentley, on Saturday. He should have been impressed, too, because she chose to have a natural childbirth.
"She set out to do things as my wife does her own way, and she really wanted to do it naturally," he told People. "It's an amazing way to go because it makes you get involved as a husband, just reading books and helping her go through this process. I would have done it with all the drugs they could find. It takes a strong-willed woman, and she was just amazing. You learn a lot about your wife."
The birth had huge coincidence for Dierks. They checked in for the delivery at the Vanderbilt Medical Center, and the next day, he raised $300,000 for Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital with his third annual Miles & Music For Kids motorcycle ride and concert. The Vandy connection was overwhelming.
The bike ride "means more to me personally now than it ever has," he said.
Dierks was joined at the charity event by Tim McGraw, John Rich, Jamey Johnson and others.
Dierks isnt the only new daddy in country music. Hot Apple Pies Brady Seals and his wife, Lisa Stewart, had a son Sept. 15: Evan James Seals.
