Oct. 17, 2008 Jason Aldean recently hit countrys Top 15 with "Relentless," adding to a string of hits that hes now singing on a regular basis on tour.
The rush of adulation he receives at those shows can create a heightened sense of importance, but he doesnt worry too much about going off on a star trip. His wife and two daughters are able to keep him in line.
"When you go home, a lot of times for me, it doesnt take long to get a reality check," he told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "I go home and walk in the door and I immediately start changing diapers and helping cook dinner, that kind of stuff. [But] my family is really cool, and any time if it ever does happen that I start getting a little weird out on the road, where I start feeling like Im getting the star syndrome, I just have to come home for a day and Im over it. Trust me it doesnt take long. You know, as soon as I pull in the driveway, all of a sudden Im not Jason Aldean anymore. Im Dad and Jason and Take out the trash, you know what I mean?"
Nonetheless, he hopes hell soon be Jason Aldean, New Artist of the Year. Hes nominated for that honor in "The 42nd Annual CMA Awards," set for Nov. 12 in Nashville. His competition includes Rodney Atkins, James Otto, Lady Antebellum and Kellie Pickler.
