Blake Shelton Drops by GAC’s Top 20

Nov. 14, 2008 — Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, George Strait and Brad Paisley all came away with major cause for celebration from Wednesday’s Country Music Association Awards, and Blake Shelton joins Nan Kelley this weekend as GAC’s "Top 20 Country Countdown" recaps the 42nd annual event.

Brad, George and Sugarland were all double winners at the ceremony, while Kenny won the CMA’s Entertainer of the Year trophy for the fourth time in his career, tying Garth Brooks’ all-time mark. In the process, Kenny joined Alabama as the only act to take the organization’s top honor three years in a row.

In the meantime, Blake has plenty of reasons for his own celebration. He’s featured in a duet version of "Home" with Michael Buble on the just-released album Hit Man: David Foster & Friends, while Blake’s own CD, Startin’ Fires, comes out Tuesday. In addition, Blake’s current video, "She Wouldn’t Be Gone," tracks at No. 2 on this week’s countdown.
