Dec. 8, 2008 — Billy Currington is doing nicely with his third country album, but don't think for a second that he's his own biggest fan. As it turns out, he's a little uncomfortable listening to his own voice.

"I don't mind hearing myself," he told Dial-Global, "but it's not my favorite thing, to be honest with you. Like when I hear myself I don't cringe, but you know, I'm like, 'Eww. That's me!? Let's turn the channel or let's listen to something else.' I'd way much rather listen to somebody else sing than myself."

Billy's voice seems to work for most country fans, though. His current single, "Don't," rests at No. 9 on the USA Today Mediabase country singles list. The song's R&B-tinged production might remind some longtime country fans of another soulful single: Conway Twitty's "Don't Take It Away."
