Dec. 16, 2008 — Lee Ann Womack and her husband Frank Liddell include watching the movie A Christmas Story in the family’s annual holiday traditions. In fact, they now relive one of the famous scenes in the film.

It started just last year when Frank got obsessed about a package he was expecting that he claimed would have an award in it. Lee Ann hadn’t won anything that she knew of, so she found the whole thing a bit strange when he called the house repeatedly to ask if the package had arrived.

"I could not figure out what he was talking about," she says. "I opened it, and it was one of those lamps [like in the movie], a leg lamp. And we have it. And we put it in the window, like the rednecks that we are, every Christmas. The neighbors get the biggest kick out of it. So that will always probably be my favorite Christmas movie."

Lee Ann probably wasn’t connecting her new album with A Christmas Story, but her own legs are actually prominent on the cover of Call Me Crazy. The CD’s first single, "Last Call," is nominated for a Grammy.
