Jan. 20, 2009 A bunch of country artists from the Lonestar State were on tap to appear at Mondays Black Tie & Boots Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C. Jack Ingram, Neal McCoy, Tracy Byrd and the Randy Rogers Band were slated for the event, along with Asleep At The Wheel, Bruce Robison, Charlie Robison, Kelly Willis and Cross Canadian Ragweed.
Jack is familiar with the Black Tie ball. He actually attended the last one.
"I went up with Pat Green for the last inauguration," Jack told Dial-Global. "I rode up there with him and sat in on a song or two and just had a really good time. I was lucky enough, they called me this time and said, 'Hey, you wanna come play that party?' And, I was like, 'You bet man, let's have a good time.' I really do believe that the atmosphere is gonna be very positive over the next six months or so. As you're movin' out one administration, movin' one in. It's always the beginning that the possibilities are endless and hopeful."
While the new administration is moving in to the White House, the old one is being welcomed back home in Texas. George W. Bush appears at a ceremony Tuesday in Midland. Lee Greenwood, Rodney Atkins and Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers Band are scheduled to perform, according to The Midland Reporter-Telegram. MyFoxLubbock.com also reported that Hank Williams Jr. will be on hand.
