Jan. 26, 2009 Dierks Bentley has made a solid connection with country fans since the release of his debut album more than five years ago, and now hes connecting even more by opening up a bit of his private world in a new GAC special, Dierks Bentley: Feel That Fire.
The one-hour program goes inside Dierks home, where he shows off a wind-up baby swing that occupies his new daughter, Evie; and a remote control backyard fire pit. In addition, Dierks brings the cameras to the ice rink, where he takes part as a hockey player for an amateur team, the Ice Holes. And he talks about the sport direct from the locker room.
Dierks Bentley: Feel That Fire of course provides plenty of music, including such former hits as "Free And Easy (Down The Road I Go)" and "Lot Of Leavin Left To Do," as well as music from the new album, due Feb. 3. He does an acoustic duet version of "Pray" with co-writer Rodney Crowell and chips in an unplugged rendition of "Beautiful World" from the steps of Nashvilles Ryman Auditorium.
"Theres so much negative in the news," Dierks says of "Beautiful World," "so I really just wrote a song to block out the negative stuff and see it in a more positive light."
Dierks Bentley: Feel That Fire debuts Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on GAC. Dierks will also visit GACs Top 20 Country Countdown Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
