March 4, 2009 — Tracy Byrd earned his first country hit in 1993, and he’s been touring steadily ever since. Except that he’s never left North America to build his fan base.

All that changes this week as Tracy kicks off his first European tour, doing four shows in three different countries.

"I’ve always heard that fans over there are serious about their country music," Tracy says. "So I’m looking forward to playing my hits for them, but I also can’t wait to pull out some hard-core classics and see for myself if what I’ve heard is true."

Tracy starts the tour Saturday in Minehead, Great Britain; followed by concerts March 11-12 in Zurich, Switzerland; and March 14 in Untermeitingen, Germany.

Back in the U.S., Tracy has another kind of appearance lined up in April. The independent movie Noble Things, featuring Tracy and Lee Ann Womack, has its Southeastern premiere at the 40th annual Nashville Film Festival April 16-23.
