January 22, 2008 — Tim McGraw may be a country singer, but he proved a long time ago he has a deep interest in pop and rock, too: He remade the Elton John single "Tiny Dancer," and his own first hit, "Indian Outlaw," featured a reference to the Paul Revere & The Raiders classic "Indian Reservation (The Lament Of The Cherokee Reservation Indian)."

Now Tim’s gone a little farther out on rock’s edge by teaming with Def Leppard. He appears on a song called "Nine Lives" that’s included on the hard-rock band’s "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" album, which will be released March 18. USA Today indicates Tim first hooked up with Leppard when he sang "Pour Some Sugar On Me" with the group at the Hollywood Bowl.

Meanwhile, Tim is slated to perform for participants at the Beyond The Lights Celebrity Golf Tournament in Lost Pines, Texas, March 7. Money from the event goes to two football-related organizations that work with spinal cord injuries, an issue that Tim relates to as both a former high-school player and as a father.

"As a parent," he says, "there’s a camaraderie that you have with other parents when something happens to their children. Your heart goes out to them."
