Porter Wagoner Recovers From Aneurysm

July 17, 2006--Get well soon wishes go out to Grand Ole Opry legend Porter Wagoner. The Tennessean reports that Porter was resting in a Nashville area hospital Saturday after surgery to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

"The surgery was successful and a full recovery is expected," Opry spokeswoman Darlene Bieber said in a statement released Saturday. Porter, 78, was rushed to the hospital Friday, and he underwent surgery almost immediately. There were no details on what symptoms Porter had Friday or how long the surgery lasted.

"He's expected to stay in the hospital for several more days, Bieber said.
