October 24, 2006--Countrynation.com reports that the NSAI/NSF awards dinner, held at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville last Sunday night, honored the newest inductees into the Songwriters Hall of Fame -- Hugh Prestwood, Jim Weatherly and Jimmy Buffett.

According to Country Music Across America's Storme Warren, who was at the dinner, Trisha Yearwood flew in for the event to sing "The Song Remembers When," written by Prestwood. Big & Rich performed Jimmy's classic "Margaritaville".

During his acceptance speech, Jimmy observed, "Hugh gets Trisha Yearwood, I get these clowns." He went on to say, "I don't win many awards. Nashville's been good to me."

Also honored at the dinner were Phil Vassar and Toby Keith, who tied for the NSAI's 2006 Songwriter/Artist of the Year.
