October 26, 2006--Tracy Byrd will release his eighth studio CD, Different Things, on October 31. The CD is full of songs that Tracy hand-picked. "When I was growing up buying George Strait records, I always knew I was going to get a full, solid album," says Tracy. "There wasn’t going to be any filler. I did my best to do that here." Tracy co-produced the album with his frequent songwriting partner, Mike Geiger.

Like his heroes, Haggard, Jones and Strait, Tracy is in it for the long haul. "I feel I still have a lot to offer," he states. "When I first started, I thought I'd have maybe a five-year career, because that’s what was happening to most people. But we kept plugging along and kept working, building a great fan base, so we’ve been able to stay around. I’ve loved country music all my life and I’m more than thankful to still be a part of it."

Catch Tracy on GAC when he co-hosts GAC’s Top 20 Countdown on October 27 and guests on GAC Nights November 7.
