December 28, 2006 — As 2006 ends, Brad Paisley reflects on attending the funeral of his good friend, country music legend Buck Owens, who passed away last March 25 at the age of 76. Brad says he considers it an honor when people choose to play his song "When I Get Where I'm Going" at funerals, but it wasn't until he performed the song himself at Buck's funeral that he fully grasped its power. "I've heard numerous accounts of people that have used this song in funerals, but I'd never done it myself," he tells X Radio. "It was a very difficult thing to do because you never feel the impact of these words like you do when there's a casket right there. But you put on your game face and pretend you're on stage for a minute and just try and sing on key and not get choked up and get through it. It was the honor of a lifetime to me to have sung that at Buck's funeral."
