February 23, 2007 — Charlie Louvin's new album of duets hit stores this week. On the self-titled CD, the Country Music Hall of Famer teamed up with artists ranging from country greats like George Jones to rockers like Elvis Costello.

George joined Charlie for two songs, "Waiting for a Train" and "Must You Throw Dirt in My Face," while Bobby Bare and Tom T. Hall contributed to "Blues Stay Away from Me."

Elvis Costello sang on "When I Stop Dreaming," while Wilco front man Jeff Tweedy added to the track "Great Atomic Power" and Bright Eyes' Alex McManus helped with "Kneeling Drunkard's Plea." In addition, alt-country singers Eef Barzelay, from the group Clem Snide, and Tift Merritt were involved in the project.

Charlie also has a couple of performances on the horizon. He'll be playing a showcase at the South by Southwest music conference in Austin next month, and will appear at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in his hometown of Manchester, Tenn., in June.
