March 26, 2007 — Loretta Lynn, who has lived most of her life in the media glare and has at times been the subject of controversy, was recently asked for her thoughts on pop star Britney Spear's troubles.
"I feel sorry for Britney," Loretta said, according to CountryNation.com. "I think her parents are the ones to blame. I'm sure they'll come after me for that, but I don't care."
Loretta said the media's focus on celebrity downfalls is nothing new. "It's no different," she said. "It just happens in a split second now. When I did something, it took three or four days to hit the press. Other than that, it's no different."
