March 28, 2007 The opening school bell rings Friday at George Jones University, The Tennessean reports. More than 200 aspiring artists from the United States, Canada and Australia will be ready with pencils in hand at the George Jones Ranch in Franklin to learn about the Nashville music industry.
Response to the school has been overwhelming since its founding just three months ago. "We could only accept one of every 10 who applied for admission," says school dean Tandy Rice. The school offers four two-and-half-day sessions each year. The next session begins June 14.
