April 25, 2007 — Josh Turner's latest single, "Me And God" is making its way up the charts into the Top 20 this week, but when Josh first released the song, he met some resistance because of his inclusion of bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley.

Josh tells Dial-Global that he held his ground to keep the music icon on the recording. "We've had some stations say that 'if Ralph Stanley's on it, we're not going to play it,' and that infuriates me because he's a national American icon, he's a bluegrass legend. He and his brother Carter, the Stanley Brothers, were the first music that I ever heard, commercially, growing up. And he's still around making great records, he's still touring and still singing good as ever."

Josh says he and Ralph have been good buddies for quite a while, and he has enjoyed playing his festival in Virginia. "He's a great man just all the way around," he says. "He's been there and done that and sold a lot of T-shirts."
