May 1, 2007 — Tracy Lawrence always has big plans in the works, and the next project on his agenda is to write his life story. Tracy tells icebergradio.com that he is ready to share the darker moments in his life and career as a way to inspire others to carry on.
"I think I'm a great story," he says. "I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life. I've made a lot of mistakes. I've done some really stupid things, and my career's suffered for it, my personal life has suffered for it. I've climbed out of it and I've gotten my life on track. I've pulled myself together in a lot of ways, risen above and got to the other side."
Tracy said he will be completely up front about his brushes with the law and other incidents that made headlines over the years. "I don't think you can gloss over them or act like they didn't happen because they did," he says. "They've been very public, so I think they all have to be addressed. I have to be honest and I have to be candid. The only other way the book works is if I die, which I don't particularly want to do. Stories like this can give people hope in their own life."
Tracy's latest single, "Find Out Who Your Friends Are," is a Top 15 hit on the country charts. The song is the debut release from his new album, For the Love.
