May 14, 2007 Taylor Swift is still seven months away from turning 18 in December, but she's already counting down to the big day. Taylor tells Dial-Global that she constantly keeps track of how long she has left before each major event in her life.
"Yeah, I'm really big into countdowns," she says. "That's the un-artist part of me. I really like to plan everything out. I'm really neurotic like that. My room is really clean and my closet is kind of scary, how organized it is. Countdowns are kind of my way to know when everything's coming up, and I have a schedule on my computer that I check obsessively. I'm really super-organized."
Look for Taylor in the current issue of People magazine, where she talks about first coming to Nashville at age 11 with her demo tape of Dolly Parton and Dixie Chicks covers. Taylor says she shopped for a deal at major record labels but to no avail because, she says, "I sang like a chipmunk!"
Taylor also tells the story of a fan asking for an autograph on her stomach so she could get Taylor's signature tattooed. Thinking she wasn't serious, Taylor signed it "obnoxiously big," but the woman followed through. Taylor told her, "I really hope things go well for me so you can justify that."
