May 23, 2007 — Josh Turner, who was recently honored for the double platinum success of his latest album, Your Man, reveals that his goal has always been to get more people interested in traditional country music.

Josh tells Dial-Global that he knew he was on the right track with this project after getting very positive feedback from one of the younger members of his band.

"It was funny," he says. "When my guitar player in my band heard the record all the way through for the first time, he called me up and said, 'This thing kicks butt. There's just a funk to it. It's just got a lot of energy,' and he said, 'There's not a boring moment on the record, even with the ballads.'"

Josh says that was a gratifying response to come from someone so much younger with little exposure to traditional country music. "It was cool for me to hear somebody like that really get something out of it," he says, "especially someone who actually plays music for a living."
