May 25, 2007 — Billy Currington's "Good Directions" marks its second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, even though Billy thinks some listeners might not completely understand the lyrics.
The Georgia native says he believes the song might have been an even bigger hit, but his reference to regional cuisine could have limited the track's exposure. But Billy, who takes pride in his Southern and country roots, says the reference to turnip greens is his favorite line in the song because it makes it gives the song a distinctively country flavor.
Billy tells Music News Nashville that he's grateful to country radio for two weeks at No 1. "What a great place to be," he says. "This No. 1 is extra special for many reasons."
"Good Directions" is the third single from Billy's album Doin' Somethin' Right. He's currently working on his next CD, which is expected to be released in the fall.
