September 27, 2007 — Brad Paisley is inching up to the top of the country charts this week with "Online," his latest song to feature his trademark humor, perched at No. 2. Brad says the humorous aspect of his writing comes from his musical heroes.

"I'm fans of people like Roger Miller and Buck Owens," Brad tells Dial-Global. "[Songs like] 'Tiger by the Tail' or 'Waitin' in Your Welfare Line' or 'Act Naturally.' The twists of phrases are always the things that I love about country writing that you don't necessarily do in other forms of music. We've done things that you've never heard in a song before. I've never heard a song about a guy who has an alter-ego online who is completely different, basically a superhero once he's on his computer. I love that aspect of our humor and the guys like Roger and Buck who used that to get a rise out of an audience."

Brad just completed shooting the video for his next single, "Letter To Me," at his hometown high school in Glen Dale, W.Va. Brad's former classmates at John Marshall High School, as well as current students at the school, are featured in the video, which should hit GAC in a few weeks.
