November 7, 2007 Dierks Bentley's latest CD, Long Trip Alone, is nominated for Album of the Year at tonight's CMA Awards, and he admits he's always hoped to be included in this particular category.
"You put an album out, you have two weeks to relax, and then you've gotta go back to writing songs and working on the next one," he tells Dial-Global. "So it's a labor of love, and just to be nominated against guys who I grew up watching on the show Vince [Gill] and George Strait just being in a category with those guys is itself a very cool thing, but yeah, I wanna win. I'd love to get up there and get a chance to thank all the people that are part of my life and part of these records."
Dierks will also be a presenter at show, which airs at 7 p.m. CST on ABC.
