November 8, 2007 — Last night in Nashville country music honored its best and brightest at "The 41st Annual CMA Awards," where Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley tied for the most wins, with two each.

For Carrie it was Female Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year for "Before He Cheats," and for Brad it was Male Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year for "Online." Kenny Chesney won his third Entertainer of the Year award in four years, thanking his mother, who accompanied him to the show.

The Horizon trophy was presented to 17-year-old Taylor Swift, who quipped, "This is definitely the highlight of my senior year." Meanwhile, Rascal Flatts took home their fifth consecutive win for Vocal Group and Sugarland ended Brooks & Dunn's winning streak with their very first CMA trophy, the Vocal Duo award.

Performance highlights included Sugarland’s emotional acoustic version of "Stay," which Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush performed minutes after their win, Miranda Lambert’s performance of "Gunpowder And Lead" in a red dress and silver boots, Brad Paisley’s performance of "Online," which included a Tennessee high school marching band and "dancers" Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler; and Reba McEntire's and LeAnn Rimes' duet of "When You Love Someone Like That."

New inductees of the Country Music Hall of Fame Vince Gill, Ralph Emery and Mel Tillis were recognized and took a bow to the crowd. Both Dwight Yoakam and Big & Rich mentioned the recent passing of Grand Ole Opry star Porter Wagoner, and Big & Rich dedicated their performance of "Loud" to the country legend.
