January 18, 2008 — The list of country music's injured performers is growing. Kenny Chesney wore a sling in December after undergoing rotator cuff surgery. Faith Hill is recuperating from knee surgery. And Big & Rich are easing up on their tour schedule so Big Kenny can devote himself to physical therapy, a follow-up to neck surgery performed after he was involved in a head-on collision with a drunk driver in 2002.

Bucky Covington has likewise been battling a physical ailment, performing with his right hand wrapped in bandages, thanks to a camping accident. Bucky and his twin brother, Rocky, were cooking breakfast during a trip in Kentucky, and grease from the pan burned his hand.

The good news: He's still able to play guitar; a photo at argusobserver.com shows him playing an acoustic six-string at an Oregon high-school gym on Tuesday. The bad news: The injury did prevent him from signing autographs.
