February 5, 2008 Currently pegged at No. 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage rolled through the Preservation of Bluegrass Music Association Awards Sunday night in Nashville, taking home six trophies in all.
The group received Entertainer and Vocal Group of the Year, while Rhonda walked off with Female Vocalist. Three members of The Rage also claimed honors as the genre's best players on their specific instruments: Hunter Berry, Fiddle Player; Mickey Harris, Bass Player; and Kenny Ingram, Banjo Player.
"It was an especially exciting night because it was Kenny's first Banjo Player of the Year award," Rhonda observed. "He's been my own Banjo Player of the Year for quite a while. It was also wonderful to see Kenny and Hunter awarded for all their hard work."
The band was featured the same night on GAC's Master Series with Bill Cody.
