February 12, 2008 — Dolly Parton announced yesterday she's postponing a tour that would have begun this month, thanks to a back problem. The shows will still go on, but likely not until April or later, following her recovery.

While her back was the official reason, she issued a statement joking that the pain may be a result of her extreme physique.

"I know I have been breaking my neck and bending over backwards trying to get my new Backwoods Barbie CD and world tour together, but I didn't mean to hurt myself doing it," she said. "But hey, you try wagging these puppies around a while and see if you don't have back problems! Seriously though, the doctors said I will be good as new in a few weeks, and I can't wait to get back out there."

The postponement news came the same day that a British paper indicated Dolly has named her bosoms: Shock and Awe. The piece also suggested that she almost thinks of them as belonging to the world at large.

"They do seem like public property," she says in The Sun. "They have served me well. I don't know if I'm supporting them or they're supporting me."
