February 12, 2008 — Brad Paisley's current single, "Letter To Me," is a note written to himself at age 17, which places him roughly in 1988. As it turns out, much of his current 5th Gear album was created as a fond remembrance of that period in his life.

"Some of the most powerful stuff that I love — whether that's 'Glory Days,' Bruce Springsteen or 'Walk Of Life' or some of the stuff from George Strait in the '80s — does have a nostalgia feel," Brad told Dial-Global. "A lot of these songs to me are stuff that I loved, and I wanted to set out to do that with some stuff."

Brad and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, have shown interest in helping current teenagers form strong memories of their own. They've donated $10,000 to Camp Sundown, a summer program that helps children with a rare disorder that causes negative physical reactions to sunlight.
