February 19, 2008 - With the Hollywood writers' strike now over, NBC's "Saturday Night Live" begins running new installments again on Saturday, and Carrie Underwood will appear as the week's musical guest.

Tina Fey, familiar to "SNL" fans as one of its former cast members, is host for the week. But Carrie will be familiar to "SNL" fans, too. She made her first appearance on the show last March, singing "Before He Cheats" and "Wasted" during an edition hosted by Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning.

Carrie won a Grammy award Feb. 10 for "Before He Cheats," but she'll likely be rolling out new material on this "SNL" date. In the fall, she released her Carnival Ride album, and it's already hit double-platinum status and given her hits with "So Small" and "All-American Girl."

Carnival Ride is also the name of Carrie's current tour, which makes three stops before her "SNL" gig: tonight in Albany, N.Y.; Wednesday in Amherst, Mass.; and Friday in Pittsburgh, Pa.
