February 21, 2008 - After Some Hearts brought her the most successful album ever recorded by a former "American Idol" contestant, Carrie Underwood dug deeper when she put together the songs for Carnival Ride. She tried her hand at co-writing much of the material, and she did well enough that the first two singles from the album - "So Small" and "All-American Girl" - have her name in the songwriting credits.

That doesn't mean she's going to write everything she does from here on out.

"There are so many amazing writers out there, and I really enjoy collaborating with those talented people," she told The Citizens Voice of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. "I don't know if I could write a whole album's worth of material. It's very draining. When I was writing with people, it was like going to see a psychologist for eight hours a day."

The video to "All-American Girl" features one of the loves of Carrie's life: her rat terrier, Ace. Carrie travels with him and brings along a suitcase full of toys to keep him occupied.

"My dog is a great stress reliever," she said. "He's my kid who I get to take care of and put my energy into."

He's also become something of a focal point for her fans, much the way Dierks Bentley's dog Jake picked up a fan club after appearing in Dierks' first video.

"People love him," Carrie said of Ace, noting that she got him a T-shirt for Christmas. It reads "Practically Famous."
