February 22, 2008 - Jeff Bates got compared to the late Conway Twitty with the release of his first album, "Rainbow Man," which brought the hits "The Love Song" and "Long, Slow Kisses."
After some time out of the spotlight, Jeff returns April 8 with the release of a new album cleverly titled Jeff Bates that shows off his skill as a songwriter.
"It's the most honest and accurate representation of me and my music yet," Jeff says.
The album is produced by three established figures: songwriter Kenny Beard, who's authored "The Rest Of Mine" and "Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly"; guitarist-vocalist Mickey Jack Cones, who's worked with Blaine Larsen and Billy Gilman; and keyboard player Jimmy Nichols, who's played on hits by Faith Hill and Reba McEntire.
"Working with Jeff on this new album," Jimmy says, "reminded me of why I came to Nashville great songs, great singing and passion for the music. Jeff is the future of country music, but he never lets us forget its past."
The first single, "Don't Hate Me For Loving You," will be released Monday.
