March 7, 2008 - Montgomery Gentry had a busy schedule this week, visiting with broadcast executives and performing a lunchtime show during the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. Their schedule got even tighter when they got stuck in an elevator at the Nashville Renaissance Hotel.
Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry were on their way up to do some interviews when the elevator stalled. They waited patiently for a bit, Dial-Global reports, then began pressing buttons, hoping to jump-start the transport. Ultimately, the duo and several other people were trapped between floors for more than 45 minutes. The solution: A hotel worker literally had to jump up and down on top of the elevator to re-start it.
Nonetheless, it was a good week for Eddie and Troy. Their new single, "Back When I Knew It All," reached No. 28 on the Radio & Records country chart, making it their fastest-rising single to date. It's included on their next album, expected this summer.
