April 2, 2008 - From the day that Carrie Underwood was first linked to actor Chace Crawford, she played it quite smart, refusing to admit whether or not they had a relationship, insisting that she intended to keep her private life private.
It's quite possible that that was a move she picked up from reading. Carrie has long acknowledged that she's a Stephen King fan, but she has little free time to get wrapped up in the twisting, turning plots that are such a trademark of his writing. So ...
"I mainly do gossip magazines," she told The Grand Rapids Press, "because I just like looking at the pictures."
That likely also provides a diversion from the stresses that accompany stardom. Carrie's headlining extensively for the first time, and even before she hit the road, it proved an overwhelming proposition.
"There is so much to do... getting everybody on the same page and making sure that everything goes smoothly," she said. "I would just sit around and worry about all the jobs that everybody else has."
Also worth thinking about: her impending induction into the Grand Ole Opry. That honor comes on May 10.
