April 3, 2008 - With his music career firmly entrenched, Montgomery Gentry's Eddie Montgomery is expanding into another industry: the food business. Eddie broke ground yesterday in Harrodsburg, Ky., on a piece of land that will become Eddie Montgomery's Steakhouse, a restaurant that will also be able to showcase artists.

"Live music has kind of gone away, and I want to help bring it back," Eddie says. "This has always been a dream of mine."

The steakhouse will feature a lodge-style atmosphere, with a log-cabin exterior, stone fireplaces and waterfalls, with seating for 265 people. Eddie's eatery will be one of the centerpieces in a larger complex, Skylar's Landing, named after his granddaughter. The 40-acre location is expected to house numerous shopping outlets, in addition to its famous-named food destination.

"This area and Kentucky and the man upstairs have given so much to me that I would just love to give a little bit back," Eddie says, his outlook reflecting the lyrics of Montgomery Gentry's "Lucky Man." "I want to do something that everyone in the community can be proud of."
