April 4, 2008 - Jo Dee Messina is joining the cast of the CBS competition "Secret Talents Of The Stars," which debuts next week. In keeping with the show's theme, Jo Dee will not be singing; instead, she's entering the contest as an urban dancer, blending hip-hop and step in her routines.
Also announced as a new contestant is soap star Joshua Morrow, who's been tapped to do a rock 'n' roll juggling act, backed by a live band.
'I am so excited to be a part of this show," Jo Dee says. "I get a chance to do something I love and don't have the opportunity to do that often. My real competition in the show is with myself; I just want to nail it!"
Jo Dee makes her first appearance during the second week of the show, on April 15.
Clint Black is slated as one of the contestants on the April 8 telecast, doing stand-up comedy. He's taken the job seriously enough that he's done stand-up rehearsals twice at Zanies, a Nashville comedy club. His most recent warm-up came Thursday, when he did 10 minutes on stage. Clint wrote all of his own material.
Actor John O'Hurley will host the series, according to zap2it.com. The judges will include Debbie Reynolds, producer Gavin Polone ("Emily's Reasons Why Not") and R&B singer Brian McKnight, who authored the Mark Wills hit "Back At One."
