April 15, 2008 - Willie Nelson kicks off a week of music and celebrations July 1 as he re-opens Willie's Place in Carl's Corner, Texas. The center, including the remodeled Earth Bio-Willie Theater, is part of an alternative-fuel truck stop featuring renewable bio-diesel gasoline.
David Allan Coe and Texas singer-songwriter Ray Wylie Hubbard will play the theater for an entire week, including July 3, when Willie gives a major concert with assists from fellow Country Music Hall of Famers Merle Haggard and Ray Price. That concert is a charity event, with proceeds slated for Texans suffering from Parkinson's disease.
Willie's Place will feature two restaurants one smoking, one non-smoking plus a poker room and a full range of amenities for truck drivers and their rigs.
Willie, Ray, Merle and David are also slated to perform in Willie's annual Fourth of July Picnic, held this year in Selma, Texas, just outside of San Antonio.
