April 16, 2008 - Country music and auto racing are like family. That's been the predominant wisdom for years, and Jason Michael Carroll discovered the truth in that belief firsthand when he decided to take part in the new GAC series "Drafting Partners."

"One of the coolest things about NASCAR was the fact that all the drivers are pretty much friends," he told host Suzanne Alexander on the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "I mean, there's a few where sometimes they get a little hotheaded, [but] in general it's kind of a brotherhood."

Plenty of country acts are NASCAR fans, including Brooks & Dunn and Diamond Rio, but Jason was surprised to find out that the interest also works in reverse.

"Another cool thing was — this kinda promotes the whole show, too — is the fact that I'm standing at the driver's meeting that morning, and Elliott Sadler walked up and started talking to me and told me he was a fan of my music," Jason noted. "That meant a lot. And then Michael Waltrip actually came up to me in Nashville at the Sound & Speed week and said he was a fan of my music. So it was very cool to get to meet all these people. And I took a picture with Redneck Jesus, which is Dale Earnhardt Jr."

A new episode of Drafting Partners airs tonight on GAC, beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
