June 9, 2008 — The temperature in Nashville over the weekend was consistently over 90 degrees, and the air was thick and humid — not exactly winter weather.

That made Faith Hill’s listening party for her first Christmas album, Joy To The World, a surreal experience for about 130 people. She held the exclusive event at the Global Café, treating party-goers to gingerbread-man cookies and peppermint ice cream cones. They sat at tables decorated with Christmas ornaments.

"It’s so very special to me — very spiritual, kind of a throwback to the 1950s [and] ‘60s Christmas music," Faith said of the album to The Tennessean. "We just had the best time making this album. You’re going to hear the London Boys Choir, and they were phenomenal."

Faith began recording the project about three years ago, but two years of touring with husband Tim McGraw delayed the album’s completion. It features some new material, including "A Baby Changed Everything," which was penned by "Live Like You Were Dying" authors Tim Nichols and Craig Wiseman with Craig’s wife, KK Wiseman. Joy To The World will also include some familiar yuletide songs, such "O Come All Ye Faithful," "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" and "Little Drummer Boy."
