July 8, 2008 — Joe Nichols has accomplished quite a bit since he made his debut in 2002 with "The Impossible." But none of it has yet allowed him to feel like he’s fully arrived in country music.

"I don't know that I've ever felt satisfied that I'd made it," he told The Hays Daily News in Kansas. "We've had a lot of success with Grammy stuff, No. 1s, platinum records. We've done a lot of things so far and [had a] lot to be grateful for, but as far as making it, I don't know. I think it's different for each person. For me, becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry would be making it. That would be huge."

As yet, he’s not been asked to join, though Joe has certainly played the Opry a number of times — and had some very unusual events take place there. A bra was once thrown on stage during his performance of "Brokenheartsville," the first time that had ever happened during an Opry show. A few years later, he met Anna Nicole Smith the same night she allegedly flashed the grand ol’ audience.

Joe will be back at the Opry for a Tuesday night edition July 22.
