July 15, 2008 Taylor Swifts newest release, Beautiful Eyes, is available beginning today at Wal-Mart stores, providing alternate recordings, new material and a DVD. But Taylor is hopeful the project wont confuse anyone.
"This is not my new album that Ive been working on all year," she wrote on her My Space blog. "Its a two-disc set, one CD and one DVD. The CD has two previously unreleased songs, Beautiful Eyes and I Heart? (I wrote those songs when I was 13), as well as alternate versions of Shouldve Said No and an acoustic version of Teardrops On My Guitar. The DVD has all of my videos, the ACM performance of Shouldve Said No (in the rain!) and a video created for Beautiful Eyes with footage from my 18th birthday party."
Taylors making it a special package, in part by releasing it only through one retailer, but also by putting a cap on the number that are made available.
"Im only letting my record company make a small amount of these," she wrote. "The last thing I want any of you to think is that we are putting out too many releases. Im not going to be doing a bunch of promotion for it, because I dont want there to be confusion about whether its the second album or not. Ive gotten so many e-mails from people asking for new songs, and I thought this might tie them over till the new album comes out in the fall."
In the meantime, you can see Taylor on the CMA Celebrity Close Up Series on GAC this Saturday at 9 p.m. ET. Also appearing on the show, hosted by Lorianne Crook, are Randy Travis and Gretchen Wilson. Click here to watch a sneak peek!
