July 16, 2008 — Kenny Chesney is traipsing through some historic locations this week. Yesterday, he was in New York where he was set to attend the All-Star Game at landmark Yankee Stadium. Today, he’s on track, according to AllAboutCountry.com, to perform the national anthem and "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" on the White House lawn.

Three tee ball games are actually scheduled at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue featuring youngsters from all 50 states. The games will be attended by President George W. Bush, who will use the event to unveil a stamp commemorating the 100th anniversary of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame." Former major-league pitcher Nolan Ryan will serve as the honorary commissioner for the day.

If that’s not enough history, Kenny will stop by Philadelphia — the home of the Liberty Bell and Constitution Hall — this weekend when his Poets & Pirates Tour reaches Lincoln Financial Field. On that date, Kenny and his fellow country stars will be the main focus for tens of thousands of fans.

"I've had people tell me all year they look at our show as an event, as something to forget about gas prices, something to forget about what's going on in that area of their life," Kenny told CBS News. "That's a huge compliment to me."

Joining Kenny on the bill in Philadelphia on Saturday are Keith Urban, Sammy Hagar, LeAnn Rimes and Gary Allan.
