Aug. 7, 2008 Joe Diffie has a concert set on Friday at Billy Bobs Texas, billed as the Worlds Largest Honky Tonk, and Joe plans to use the occasion to capture his own honky-tonk attitude on the first live album of his career.
"I have always wanted to record a live album but wanted to do it right," Joe notes. "Some of my favorite musical heroes, Willie [Nelson] and [Merle] Haggard, taped live albums at Billy Bob's, so it's a career highlight to record my live album in the same venue. I couldn't think of a better place."
Joes got quite a backlog of hits to use as the basis for the evenings set list. His career highlights include "Bigger Than The Beatles," "John Deere Green," "A Night To Remember," "Honky Tonk Attitude," "Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox (If I Die)" and "Ships That Dont Come In," among others. He also nabbed a No. 1 hit recently on a European chart through his collaboration with Peter & The Rowers on "Long Gone Loser."
