Aug. 27, 2008 — Marty Stuart was influenced as a kid in Mississippi by watching a Saturday TV lineup that included the syndicated music programs "The Porter Wagoner Show," "The Wilburn Brothers Show" and "Flatt & Scruggs." Marty brings the concept back to life in November with the premiere of "The Marty Stuart Show," a half-hour musical endeavor from one of Nashville’s top musicians and showmen.

"I want to establish a show that gives a voice and stage to traditional country music," Marty says. "This show is about authenticity...from the artists who visit us in the studio every week to the people watching at home in America."

"The Marty Stuart Show" will feature his backing band, the Fabulous Superlatives; wife Connie Smith; and radio personality Eddie Stubbs as regulars when it starts on RFD-TV this November.

The same month, Source Books will issue Marty’s second book, Country Music: The Masters, with his personal photos of such friends as Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Ray Charles, Buck Owens, Dolly Parton and Waylon Jennings. The forward is written by Billy Bob Thornton.
